This small oil painting was painted 'plein-air' on the beach of Benidorm, at the Costa Blanca in Spain in 1997.
Its measurements are 30x42cm and it was painted on panel. The artist saw the girl repeating her game almost every day and therefore it was possible to come very close and paint, yet without attracting the attention of the child, who did never see what the artist was doing, as the artist feels when to be discreet and therefore sat down as if she was reading, while making herself as small as possible.
