One of the most beautiful areas in Scotland to visit is the area around Glencoe, in the middle of the Scottish Highlands. Unfortunately, it is quite crowded here, especially the main valley of Glencoe. Glen means valley, so Glencoe is the valley of the River Glen. Much less known is the side valley, Glen Etive. Via an 18 mile long very narrow dead end road you drive along the River Glen right through the valley to finally end at loch Etive. The whole road is a succession of beautiful landscapes, so typical of this area. Rivers, waterfalls, high bare mountains and lakes and the occasional cottage. How wonderful you will live here!
