The third picture of the church ruins shows a section of the remaining church walls. Vines fall down from above and you can see through the arch to the garden.
If you didn't know you were in London, you would think it was an old church ruin in the middle of the jungle. This is thanks to the gardening skills of the landscapers who were commissioned to remodel the churchyard and the ruins. They deliberately chose vines and climbing plants.
The church itself was built in the 13th century and is now a listed building.
Today's public garden is an oasis of calm amidst the noise of the city. Mysterious and magical at the same time.
The tower of the church is still standing and even survived the attacks of the Second World War.
However, after the nave was destroyed by the Great Fire of London and the attacks during the Second World War, the city decided to turn it into a public garden.
