Longing for peace I think is something many children do, at least this girl. And peace, of course, can be desired in more areas than just war, think divorce for instance. That desire can be seen here, of course, in the peace sign she makes with her hands. Because we cannot see her face, only the peace sign is important. She gazes into the distance over her homeland. Behind her grow plants that look like thorns, at least it seems so because of the pointed leaves. The white doves in the sky are also a symbol of peace and so they underline the peace sign the girl is making with her hand. The poppies in the foreground symbolise the First World War but they are also the symbol of the veterans of this world. They indicate here why she so longs for peace. The colours of this work are pink and red and all shades in between, including beige, brown, orange and black. A strong symbolic work that fits in these times.
As an artist, I like to enter a colorful world especially the world of flowers. This colourful and so positive world appeals to me enormously. Flowers spread a positive atmosphere because of the colors and the beautiful and diverse shapes and one can never get enough of that!.. Read more…
