About "Love couple, Egon Schiele - 1913"

About the artwork

This couple is intertwined on this nude portrait. The woman in fishnet stockings and the man in glasses are lying naked together in a portrait of love.

The girl is almost exposed while sitting on her stockings, so her thigh, hip and torso are on the artwork. The blond man with beard is completely undressed, leaving the upper body and shoulders bare.

Egon Schiele (Tulln, 12 June 1890 - Vienna, 31 October 1918) was an Austrian expressionist painter. The artist painted sexual acts and went from scandal to scandal. The artist's works belong to the painting style of the Viennese Sezession. Schiele's drawings and paintings are mainly sexy images of people.

Because of the strong use of lines Schiele can be seen as a draughtsman rather than a painter. Color in the paintings is only applied afterwards. The use of colour, however, greatly enhances the alienating effect. Schiele's works have a cubist character. The painter uses powerful angular lines. As a result, the depicted bodies are experienced as strange and often frightening. Both women and men are ruthlessly depicted in their nudity, in unusual poses. The angular shapes of the body, the unrealistic colours and the often panicky look in the eyes make these portraits very alienating with an explicitly sexual, narcissistic and exhibitionistic character.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
