The Preikestolen or Prekestolen is a cliff, rising 604 meters above the Lysefjord.
It is a tourist attraction in western Norway and offers a view of fjords and mountains. One way to reach the landmark is by a stone-marked hiking trail. This hike is 8 km and is fairly tough, in advance due to some steep sections and the rocky ground.
Lysefjord means light fjord, probably due to the light granite stones along the fjord. The fjord is about 42 km long and at its deepest point 500 meters deep.
