The Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam has been the new landmark of Rotterdam since its opening in 1996. The Erasmus Bridge is an 800-meter-long suspension bridge with one sloping 139-meter-high steel pylon with a kink in it. It was designed by architect Ben Berkel of UN Studio. The bridge connects the center of Rotterdam with the new district the Kop van Zuid. With the high ambitions and charisma of this area came a bridge with charisma. The Erasmus Bridge is among the top 10 of modern architecture in Rotterdam.
