The Marker Wadden consists of five new, uninhabited nature islands artificially constructed in the Dutch Markermeer from 2016 to 2021.
The islands are about four kilometers from the Houtribdijk, which connects Enkhuizen and Lelystad. The distance to Lelystad is nine kilometers. Accessible by a boat service provided by Natuurmonumenten. The boat leaves from Batavia harbor in Lelystad and you will be at the Marker Wadden in about 30 minutes. You can stay there for five hours before the boat takes you back to Lelystad. There is a simple cafeteria and from my own experience I say: A visit to the Marker Wadden is very worthwhile.
