Let yourself be carried along the Mast forest's plank path. The wooden path winds through the greenery, while the clouds above give you a sense of space and freedom. Perfect for lovers of nature photography and a must-have for those who want a touch of tranquillity in their homes.
The Mastbos is centuries old. You wouldn't think it because it is very close to Breda's built-up area, but it found its origins in the 16th century. Count Hendrik III van Nassau-Breda had the forest planted from the year 1515 with seed of Scots pine from Nuremberg in Germany. Before the construction, the area was a moorland with a number of smaller oak forests.
I walked through the Mastbos via the Foresters' Path. Wandering along ancient paths and the plank path, I got to know a (for me) new part of Brabant.
