What a beautiful photo in a beautiful location.
Would you like to enjoy this view every day?
Enjoy the waterfront with a beautiful view of The Maurit Tower.
The tower is named after Prince Maurice, son and successor of William of Orange, who was murdered in Delft. He took up residence in this stadholder quarter in 1600.
From this tower, Prince Maurice watched the execution at Binnenhof of his rival statesman and council pensionary Johan van Oldenbarneveldt in 1619. Under Prince Maurice and Stadholder Frederik Hendrik, the Mauritstoren was expanded into the stadholder quarter that is now part of the building complex of the Senate of the States General.
