In the high grass in the Kalahari Desert.
The Kalahari is a semi-desert in southern Africa. It's an area of about 900,000 km². Although it is generally referred to as a desert, it is actually not, because there is considerably more rainfall than in a real desert. The Kalahari is a very varied area that includes large stretches of grassy steppe and savannah in addition to sandy desert. The area covers most of Botswana and eastern Namibia and parts of Zimbabwe, South Africa and Angola. The grassy areas are characterized by long, stiff grass, prickly shrubs and acacias. They include lions, hyenas, various species of antelope, meerkats and baboons.
