About ‘Memories at Clingendael estate’ by Ellen Weidenaar

As a little girl, I walked with my parents and my sisters on the beautiful Clingendael estate located between The Hague and Wassenaar. With my little hands, I felt hearts and names carved into the trees, sometimes even dating back to the 1940s. Like us, people were making memories here. Here is peace, beauty and energy. The world stood still here and that right next to the busy bustle of the Hague. Countless times throughout my life, I have stood at this point from which this photo was taken. The reflection in the water of the beautiful overhanging branches of the trees and the suffering lines of the waterfront make me drawn back to my fond memories and feelings from that time every time. Such is the magic of nature and a piece of heaven on earth.

For this photo, I used the HDR photo technique. That way, I have enough information to keep a photo as close to reality as possible but still show the magic I want to show.

On 6 January 2021, on that day at the age of 39, I got the best medicine, as everyone knows it, for the setbacks in my life. My first camera. I was introduced to passion, drive and creativity. This I knew only from words but had never seen in myself before. My love for animals and nature has always been great. I found comfort, love, humour, wonder and connection. This is what I try to capture.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
