W126 is a model series of the top class of Mercedes-Benz. Production started in September 1979 and ended in October 1991. The W126 was the second series with the official name S-Class, meant as Sonderklasse or "super-class" in Dutch.[1] The W126 was the successor of the W116 and was replaced by the W140.
