The Merkjárfoss is a waterfall in southern Iceland. This waterfall is also called the Gluggafoss (window waterfall). The Merkjá falls from a cliff that was once part of the Icelandic coast just after the last ice age. Directly to the left of the waterfall is a so-called dike, a remnant of what was once a crack in the earth's crust that was filled with lava.
