On my journey through Holstein Switzerland, I came across the sculpture of the Malente Mermaid in Holstein's Dieksee. In Malente I had arrived at a place of longing. As a health resort, the place is beautifully situated. The mermaid also caught my attention. I asked myself, what is she doing here, what is she doing here, is she a PR fop or is there a historical background? The virgin has been sitting on her granite stone since the year 2000 and looks out over the lake. Its creator was the academic sculptor Kurt Grabert, an artist who actively participated in public tenders for public space.
I think the little mermaid is beautiful. She fits into the landscape of the spa town of Malente-Gremsmühlen, part of the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park. When I created this work in the form of a photograph, I was looking for relaxation in this beautiful part of Germany. Bad Malente is worth a trip. Here you can relax and regain your strength. This photograph framed on canvas, placed in e.g. the bedroom of a house, or as a photo wallpaper, creates comfort and at the same time hope for the next trip to the longing place Holstein Switzerland.
