De Hoop is a quay and corn mill built in 1764 in the city of Gorinchem, in the Dutch province of Zuid-Holland. This scaffolding mill is located on the city wall on the Upper Merwede and can be clearly seen from the water. It took more than a hundred years for the mill to get a name: in 1879 the hitherto nameless mill was given the name "De Hoop" by the then new owner A.J. van de Water.
