Dutch landscape with mill "De Onrust" Mill was built in 1809 to drain the Naardermeer lake. De Onrust's scoop wheel has a water displacement of about 10 m3 per rotation. The sails rotate twice for this purpose. One day (about 16 hours) of good wind is needed to achieve a 1 cm lowering of the water level.
