The 'Mintered Garden', located in the southern part of the English island, served as my source of inspiration for this enchanting painting, only 30 x 30 cm small in the original. Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of personally exploring this enchanting landscape on location and capturing it in sketches. In doing so, I was able to experience the unspoilt richness of the English countryside. The painting, which was created in my studio, has a modest format of 30 x 30 cm, but it holds the beauty of this journey.
I was particularly fascinated by the picturesque bridge, which occupied my full attention. It symbolises the relationship between man and nature. Despite its age and its supposed insignificance, it shows us the sustainability in dealing with old things. Nature, in its power and grandeur, reminds us how short our stay in this world is.
The painting is based on a photograph of this beautiful garden. It captures the splendour and fascination of nature. This artwork is a declaration to nature and a reminder of the humility it awakens in us.
