Miracles in the ditch, Eruption of a volcano of algae. Terheijden, Terheijdense Binnenpolder, North Brabant, Holland, Dutch Landscape. Reflection on the water of a ditch in the inner polders of Terheijden with some kind of yellow algae under the water. The reflection in the blue is formed by an oxidation process of algae, which only occurs in pure water. It is therefore not oil. The choice was made to maximise the play of colours in and under the water. A play of colours can still be seen under water, which has not been retouched away. The choice was made to do justice to nature as much as possible. By using a polarisation filter, the right balance was developed to show the parties under and on the water as equally as possible. Although the colours are enhanced, the preference is to take a maximum quality photo first, so that minimal corrections are needed in post-processing the photo. image volcano image algae image water image oil
