The road from Christchurch to Greymouth is an experience in itself, passing through some of New Zealand's most breathtaking scenery. One of the must-see stops is Lake Brunner, located near the small village of Moana. Surrounded by lush green hills and bordered by lush forests, this lake offers an almost unreal tranquillity. In Moana, you can stop to admire the calm waters of the lake, which reflect the sky and surrounding mountains like a natural mirror. Photography enthusiasts will find spectacular angles here, particularly at sunrise or sunset. Lake Brunner is also popular for its water sports activities, such as trout fishing, which is very popular in the region. As you continue along the route, the landscape changes from vast plains to thick forests before reaching the wetter lands of the west coast. This is a perfect stop-off for connecting with nature and taking a break from the pace of the road.
