Modern Christmas tree relief created using the palette knife technique

by BBGalerie24

The artwork depicts a stylised fir tree, constructed from horizontally layered, gently undulating segments set against a textured, light grey and cream-white background. The individual layers alternate in muted shades of white, dark grey and deep petrol blue. Each edge is delicately accented with a hint of gold, and a small golden star sits atop the tree. The entire surface features a rough, tactile plaster-like texture, which lends the minimalist motif a tremendous sense of depth.

The inspiration for this work stemmed from a desire to translate classic Christmas symbolism into a timeless, modern aesthetic. Far removed from garish colours, the aim was to capture the meditative stillness of a snow-covered winter forest in the morning light.

The artwork exudes a cool, elegant and, at the same time, peaceful atmosphere. It conveys the clear, refreshing feeling of a winter’s day, combined with a subtle, warm sense of festivity.

The work symbolises a return to the essentials and the quiet magic of the festive season. It represents enduring quality, elegance and a tranquil retreat into a cosy winter landscape.

It is a richly detailed, digitally created mixed-media textural piece that faithfully replicates the three-dimensional effect of heavy trowel-finished plaster, layered paper or fabric, as well as subtle gold accents.

This piece is a perfect eye-catcher for modern, Scandinavian or minimalist interiors, particularly during the winter and Christmas season. It fits perfectly in living rooms, hallways or dining areas designed to exude a touch of subtle elegance and wintry nature.
