The Mona Lisa but with pixels Mona Lisa (Italian: La Gioconda, French: La Joconde) is a painting by Leonardo da Vinci, which he probably produced between 1503 and 1506.[1] It hangs in the Musée du Louvre in Paris. It is the portrait of a smiling lady, probably Lisa Gherardini or in full Lisa di Antonmaria Gherardini di Montagliari. She was the third wife of Francesco del Giocondo, who probably commissioned the painting. The technique used is oil on panel (poplar wood). It is among the few works that are certain to be by Leonardo himself.
