My impression of Edinburgh Castle is a hand-painted watercolour by the artist Karen Kaspar. It shows Edinburgh Castle in the capital of Scotland, as seen from my vantage point on the Grassmarket. The old castle is enthroned on a hill. The weathered walls are set against a blue sky with clouds. The green foliage at the foot of the hill adds a vivid contrast to the warm tones of the buildings. The picture is painted in a loose style, hence the title 'My Impression'.
I didn't paint the picture on the spot but a little later, as it started to rain heavily shortly after I took my reference photos.
