About ‘Nannewijd.’ by Berend Negenman

As the sun slowly sinks behind the reeds of the Nannewiid, the Frisian winter sky turns into a palette of deep orange and soft lilac. The icy wind falls silent for a moment, turning the surface of the water into a wrinkle-free mirror holding the last warmth of the day.
In this hushed landscape, a sharp, dark silhouette emerges: a fisherman, motionless on the shore. The long fishing rod stands out like a gossamer black line against the fiery horizon. It is a moment of pure Frisian serenity, where the cold is forgotten by the overwhelming beauty of the approaching dusk.
