Yoho Park is a less famous park in the Rocky Mountains, but with no less impressive. The name Yoho is not for nothing derived from a native word for "awe and amazement." There live grizzly's, deer, elk, mountain goats and 180 different bird species. The park is known for its blue lakes such as Emerald Lake and its spectacular waterfalls such as Takakkaw Falls (254 meters high) and Wapta Falls (30 meters high, 150 meters wide). The River Kicking Horse River flows through the nature reserve and has slipped a hole in the rocks with this impressive rock formation, creating a natural bridge over the flowing water.
