About ‘Nepal's impasse between tradition and modernity’ by Frank Photos

This cobbled alleyway in Kathmandu offers a glimpse of traditional Newar architecture, with its brick houses and intricately carved windows. The ancient facades bear witness to the rich heritage of this ethnic group of craftsmen who have shaped the unique aesthetic of the Kathmandu Valley. Above, a tangle of electric wires runs from building to building, illustrating the stark contrast between the historic charm and the contemporary challenges of urbanisation. In this cul-de-sac, time seems suspended, between serenity and bustle, as residents go about their daily business. The cobblestones used by the passing of generations tell a silent story of exchanges, prayers and lives intertwined in the urban fabric of the Nepalese capital. This typical setting, a blend of tradition and modern adaptation, embodies the soul of Kathmandu, where every street corner reveals a new facet of its age-old history.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
