This Symphyotichum novi-belgii or New Dutch Aster, while the Latin name suggests Belgium. The flower grows in the wild in the Alps, but has been developed in the Netherlands and blooms in the flower fields around Noordwijk & Sassenheim in the months of August/September. It is a very strong flower that you see a lot in bouquets, also because of the strong contrast in colors.
