About ‘Nijmegen at low tide’ by Maerten Prins

The Nijmegen skyline, with the Stevenskerk prominently featured and a small section of the railway bridge visible on the right. The photo was taken from the Lent side. There is still a tiny bit of water in what is normally a small ferry harbour. The Waal is at an extremely low level. The photo was taken using a grey filter, resulting in an exposure time of ten seconds. This has softened the appearance of the river; the movement in the clouds is visible, and in the foreground you can still see yellow flowers swaying in the wind.
