Northern Lights, polar light or Aurora Borealis in the night sky over the Lofoten islands in Northern Norway. Vertical sky photo with snow covered mountain in the foreground.

Set against a backdrop of jagged mountain the aurora transforms the Arctic night into a surreal, otherworldly spectacle. Swirling ribbons of green light dance across the sky, caused by charged solar particles colliding with gases in Earth’s atmosphere.
In the Lofoten Islands, located above the Arctic Circle, long winter nights and minimal light pollution provide ideal viewing conditions. From September to April, clear skies often reveal this celestial performance, reflected on the still waters below and illuminating the snow-covered peaks. The contrast between the dark silhouettes of the mountains and the vibrant colors of the aurora creates an unforgettable visual experience.
Local legends once attributed the lights to spirits or celestial battles, adding mystique to their beauty. Today, visitors from around the world come to witness this phenomenon, often combining it with Arctic activities like dog sledding, photography, or cozy nights in rorbu cabins. The Northern Lights over Lofoten are more than a sight—they’re an emotional and awe-inspiring reminder of nature’s grandeur and the magic of the far north.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
