The frozen lake Jökulsárlón in Iceland was a beautiful backdrop for this evening's overwhelming northern lights. There were few ice floes due to the prolonged cold, but that only made the reflections of the northern lights more beautiful. The flaming skies above the snow-capped mountain peaks were very impressive. The beauty was that multiple colours could also be seen in the photos.
We stood here enjoying the scenery well into the night.
Due to the cloudless sky, the stars were easily visible. If you look closely, you can see some recognisable star groups.
While photographing, we heard the seals around us making noises, but we couldn't see them. It is a pity they are not still in the photos.
The photo gives me warmth in the cold environment of wintry Iceland.
I was born and live in the Netherlands. From my childhood I have been photographing, but the last 10 years I've been really active with it.
My preference is for landscape and macro photography, but I also like to experiment with patterns and the like.
