As the winter is fast approaching autumn still clings to the cliff sides of Geiranger Fjord. The peaks are already covered in snow and the light is dim, cool and enchanting. Set in the Geiranger fjord, famous for cruise ships, extreme views and being one of the most visited places in Norway.
The first in an extended series of motives painted from my family's home place that they moved out of before I was born, it brings me back to a place of peace. Maybe one day I'll return?

The painting is warn, yet has quite a lot of colder colours. Perfect as a statement piece in a room with mixed interior., works really well in a rustic style, but impasto brushstroke is a very versatile style.
Many people will recognize this view from their holidays in Norway, and the feedback I get from the painting is often one of fond recollection.
