About "Nostalgia in Art"

About the artwork

In this painting, I sought to encapsulate the delicate dance between memory and distance. The silhouette of a man, standing before a window, serves as a vessel for nostalgia—a shared human experience of longing for a time and place once familiar, now distant. His gaze is directed toward a cityscape that wavers on the edge of the surreal, cast in deep, cool grays that evoke both the solidity of urban life and the haziness of recollection.
The city beyond is a tapestry of shadow and subtle light, framed by the window's geometry. This window not only highlights the city's form but also acts as a symbolic barrier between past and present—between what is vividly remembered and what can no longer be reached. Misty whites and grays sweep across the horizon, suggesting clouds that drift like memories, adding an ethereal quality to the scene.
Emotionally, I aimed to convey a bittersweet reflection—a recognition of the comfort found in familiar landscapes, paired with the ache of separation. Yet, within this melancholy lies a hopeful undertone; even as the city remains physically distant, its cherished essence endures, kept alive through the power of memory.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
