About ‘Notre-Dame de Lorette in red’ by George van der Vliet
In northern France lies the national monument Notre Dame de Lorette in memory of the many fallen soldiers of World War I.
The original picture has been converted to one that emphasizes the threat of war and the much bloodshed. Here that is achieved by applying a mirror image and changing of colors

My name is George vd Vliet. Photography I have been doing for many years, I work mostly in landscape, historical places and underwater. I have studied history and taught in high schools.
What inspires me is the light and lines in the landscape, the silent world under water and the way I can incorporate it in my photographs.
