An old and dilapidated cottage in Yorkshire, UK. You wonder how people lived here, it was on a plain that was fairly high up so lots of wind and often cold with lots of snow. Yet people lived here for a very long time and you really wonder what that was like, there were no trees here so wood to fire had to come from somewhere else. Also, there was little to grow here in terms of food so the only thing left will be that people had animals here, mostly sheep.
These kinds of houses intrigue me, they are not only beautiful to photograph but the history behind them and the fact that often large families lived in these small houses. It was mostly shabby, it must have been a hard life. This cottage is already very old, it has been empty for a long time but it will be there in all weathers for many years to come. Wonderful photography subjects for me.
