I took this photo in a forest and mossy area where I took this border collie Nicha (My guest dog) for a walk.
I shot this with an extremely low ISO to be free of noise with a 1/100th shutter speed to maintain sharpness and full aperture.
For this photo, I used a natural and atmospheric location with lots of douglas firs and lots of moss which allowed me to bring Nicha fully to the fore independently of the background in post-processing.
I had asked another photographer to stand a few steps to my left with a stick up and to wave it a bit so that Nicha would look up and to the left with her ears up and straight ahead.
Here she also shows the calm and sweet character she always has.
The period that this picture was taken was in January.
I am a fine art dog photographer who specializes in capturing dogs at their most beautiful, but in addition to dog photography I also photograph wildlife.
