The impressive Eldhraun lava field is the largest lava flow in the world. It happened during the LakiLaki eruption of the late 1700s. The vast plain, which is 565 square kilometres (218 square miles), is where the Apollo 11 crew trained for their moonwalk.

Meanwhile, the lava is covered with mosses, giving it a beautiful green colour.
