This artwork has a special story. The inspiration to create this portrait was Rembrandt's artwork 'the old man with gold chain'. I was inspired by the light in the original work and tried to capture it in this charcoal drawing. Eventually, this artwork was noticed by the Rijksmuseum and this portrait was allowed to hang in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam for three months! This artwork is made with charcoal on canvas and therefore has a really pure and raw effect.
