About ‘Only Under a White Sun, digital collage’ by Lina van Oers

A person stands, looking very small, in a vast landscape. An enormous white sun hangs above him. The proportions are almost alienating: the figure takes up hardly any space, whilst the sky and landscape seem endless.

This makes this work more than just a landscape. It is also about scale, silence and the feeling of being part of something much greater than oneself. The warm rust-brown hills contrast subtly with the light sky and the dry grass in the foreground. The simple composition lends this print a sense of tranquillity. At the same time, the large, round sun immediately catches the eye. This graphic element gives the landscape a modern and almost surreal quality.

It looks lovely in a large format on a plain wall, for example above a sofa, bed or sideboard. The work really stands out, particularly in interiors featuring beige, terracotta and warm earth tones.
