Oostmahorn lighthouse is located on the Lauwersmeer in the province of Friesland and falls under the village of Anjum. The 7-metre-high lighthouse is not really a lighthouse and has no lamp. The turret used to measure the water level but digitalisation has put it out of use. The photo in the background shows the 3 famous locks of the Lauwersmeer, the R.J. Cleveringsluizen on the Lauwersmeer are sluices. The lock complex in the N361 consists of three structures, two of which are in the territory of Friesland and the other is in the province of Groningen.
