The Opal Coast, or Cote d'opale
The Opal Coast is a coastal strip in the Hauts-de-France region in northern France. It comprises part of the coastline along The Channel, from Dunkirk to Berck at the mouth of the Authie.
This photo was taken in the evening in Ambleteuse with the fort in the background.
This seaside resort, with a beautiful sandy beach, lies at the mouth of the Slack north of an impressive area of dunes (les Dunes du Slack).
The beach is dominated by the Fort built by Vauban in the 17th century. It is the only one of its kind preserved, partly due to the efforts of a few private individuals.
