Orange Abstract Painting: Branching Flames in Fire and Colour by Surreal Media

This work reveals a network of thin, light veins that branch out in all directions from a dark, blue-green base at the bottom, like the branches of a tree or the veins of a leaf. At the end of each branch, thick, fan-shaped clusters of paint in orange, yellow and white unfold, becoming larger and fuller the further they are from the centre. In the top right-hand corner, everything glows with a warm, golden-yellow hue, whilst on the left and at the bottom, blue, purple and deep red predominate — a subtle battle between fire and shadow. If you look closely, you can see how each branch gives rise to smaller branches, just as in nature.

The theme is fractals: that endless repetition of the same shape, from large to small, which I’ve merged here with the image of a tree or a fireworks display. This season, stylists recommend combining warm, earthy and sunny colours for a relaxed, Mediterranean look, and that is precisely the warmth I have sought here — bright and vibrant, yet balanced by the tranquillity of dark blue.

The atmosphere is lively, warm and tactile, and the emotions it evokes are joy, energy and wonder: colour as something you can lose yourself in time and time again. This is a digital artwork, but it has the look of thick, layered paint with sharp, relief-like edges, as if each flame had been built up with a palette knife.

In an interior, this piece instantly brings energy to a room — it looks lovely in the living room above the sofa, in the dining room by evening light, or in an office where you could do with a bit of extra spark.
