About ‘Oranjemolen Vlissingen’ by MSP Canvas

The Oranjemolen is a corn mill and former peeling mill on the Oranjedijk in Vlissingen, in the Dutch province of Zeeland. Because of its location, this mill is both a good windcatcher and an eye-catcher. It is a scaffolding mill that was described in 1699, so it must have been built earlier. Since 1968, the mill has been owned by the municipality of Vlissingen. It is covered with roof leather and has a flight of 24.50/24.60 meters. Since 2014, the mill has been milling, and is still used to grind grain on a voluntary basis. Of the 23 city mills in Vlissingen, the Oranjemolen is the only one left. It is the closest windmill to the sea in the Netherlands. On several occasions the mill has suffered from war violence. A bullet from the English fleet in 1809 would still be in the southwest side of the mill wall. Traces of the Second World War can also still be found - the Allies landed near the mill in 1944.

In 2000, the Oranjedijk had to be raised by two meters. Therefore, the leaning mill (700 tons) was straightened and raised two meters using pile foundations, and in 2002 an extensive restoration took place.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
