The Ortaköy Mosque also known as Ortaköy Camii, is adjacent to the Bosphorus Bridge and stands in the Ortaköy district of the Turkish port city of Istanbul.
The mosque was built between 1854 and 1856 by order of Ottoman Sultan Abdülmecit. The architectural style of the mosque is characterized as a neo-baroque style.
Despite the fact that the mosque is somewhat remote, it attracts thousands of tourists every year. Most people go there to take a picture and enjoy the magnificent view of the Bosphorus River. When visiting Istanbul, paying a visit to this mosque is definitely worth it.
