About ‘Oudehaven Rotterdam’ by Karl Smits

The Oudehaven is one of the oldest ports of Rotterdam, in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located in the centre of the city, southeast of Rotterdam Blaak station. After the damming up of the Rotte by the Middeldam at what is now the Hoogstraat, a stump of the river remained south of it with a connection to the Maas, surrounded by swamps. The first jetty was built here around 1350.
Nowadays the Oude Haven is a well-known and busy nightlife area with cafes and restaurants with terraces on the waterfront, close to the famous cube houses, the White House and the adjacent Marine Museum. The Hogeschool Rotterdam has a branch in the neighbourhood.
The Oudehaven is not the oldest port of Rotterdam; that was actually a jetty in the canal south of the Middeldam. That canal still partly exists as Steigersgracht, but was aptly called 'Steyger' at the time.
On the Oudehaven is also the museum slipway Koningspoort.
The Oudehaven is connected on the west side to the Wijnhaven and on the east side to the Haringvliet.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
