If the alarm goes off at 4:00, it's very early. But with the fog that was expected I could not resist to jump out of my bed and get into the car.
The Oudendijkse Molen is a seesaw mill on the Dorpsweg 63 in Hoornaar, in the Zuid-Holland municipality of Molenlanden. It is one of the two remaining mills of what is called Het Land der Zes Molens. The other remaining windmill is the Scheiwijkse Molen. The windmill was built in 1683 and operated until 1967. After an inner rod broke, the Oudendijkse Molen was shut down and in 1970 the polder board transferred it to the SIMAV. In 1983-1984 the mill was thoroughly restored. The Oudendijkse Molen can be visited by appointment.
It fled with a length of 26.80 m. is old-Dutch fenced. The Oudendijkse Molen has never been mortarized and therefore grinds with a scoop wheel. (Source: Wikipedia)
