City is the English word for town. Conversely, city has two translations in English, city and town. The administrative divisions in Dutch-speaking areas and in English-speaking areas are different, so it depends on the situation which translation should be chosen. A city is generally larger than a town. Within the English-speaking world, the term city is also interpreted differently.
