About the artwork

Rouen is the capital of the Normandy region and the department of Seine-Maritime. The city is situated on the Seine. It is one of the most important ports of France. The river Seine cuts through the city. During the Gallo-Roman period, wine and olives were already unloaded in Rouen and tin, lead and pottery were loaded.

There are several ships in the harbor like a steamboat. In the background the skyline of the city with church towers.

Pierre Hodé, whose real name is Georges Ducenne, is a French painter and theatre decorator attached to the School of Rouen, born on 8 January 1889 in Rouen and died on 15 December 1942 at the Bichat Hospital in Paris.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
