If you are in Petten aan Zee be sure to check out the Palendorp monument on the beach near the Bergeendstraat. This fine work of art consists of a 160 poles six to 12 metres long. The poles are in the shape of ten houses and a church. It is a reminder of old Petten, which was inundated by the sea long ago.
