Panorama (3:1) of the 'Plaza de España' in the Maria Luisa park in Seville. The iconic square was built for the 1929 Ibero-American exhibition and is considered a masterpiece of Spanish Renaissance style. Designed by architect Aníbal González, the square is an impressive mix of architecture, art and landscape. Plaza de España has a semicircular shape and is surrounded by a building with beautiful mosaics, turrets and galleries. It is built around a moat where visitors can sail in fluted boats. Decorated with colourful ceramic tiles representing the provinces of Spain, the square's focal point is a fountain surrounded by a beautifully tiled amphitheatre. It is a popular meeting place for tourists and locals alike, and offers great views of the square and the adjacent Maria Luisa Park.
