In the south-west of beautiful Switzerland, in the canton of "Valais", lies the small idyllic town of "Saas-Almagell". Popular in winter (together with the surrounding villages such as Saas-Fee) among winter sports enthusiasts and in summer a very popular destination among (hiking) enthusiasts.
Saas-Almagell, a "Pearl of a mountain village". Wherever you go or stand in Saas-Almagell, there are always the conviviality and breathtaking views. Up here in the mountains, fill your lungs with pure air. This is holiday, far from all the hustle and bustle and yet full of life. Saas-Almagell is the southernmost village in the sun-drenched Saas Valley. The village's authentic character has been preserved over all these years: old barns, benevolent silence, idyllic spots, a small lake. This village has no crowds, there seems to be no rush. Everyone has time and there are warm-hearted people. In winter, the snowy, sunny slopes of Furggstalden beckon and in summer you will find fantastic hiking trails waiting to be discovered by holidaymakers. Step by step adventure in an overwhelmingly wild natural landscape.
One of the highlights is a trip to the nearby Mattmark reservoir. Further into the valley, at the Zermeiggern power station, this panorama overlooks Saas-Almagell and its surroundings, with the Mattmark reservoir in the background.
